The BBGv2 Boomerang Flash Bracket
Quickly and easily rotates your speedlight/flash above the lens into preferred shooting orientation! It’s unobtrusive design, smooth action and precision operation make it a joy to use.
Positioning the flash above the lens eliminates shadows and Red-Eye, greatly improving the lighting quality in your photographs. Improving images “in camera” will reduce post processing time, saving hours of potential retouching. It’s the perfect camera accessory for fast paced situations like weddings and events.
The BBGv2 has been designed and optimized for tall cameras, Canon 1Dx, Nikon D5 or similar, and also cameras utilizing the optional battery pack / grip, Canon BG-E20, Nikon MB-D18 or similar. The arc shaped flash arm mounting platform allows for unrestricted access to the vertical grip controls and does not block the battery compartments.
The Boomerang places the flash away from the hot shoe, allowing unrestricted access for a wireless controller / transmitter. The flash plate is capable of mounting wired and wireless speedlights, battery powered Flash Heads and so much more.
The Boomerang Flash Bracket is built around our Arca Compatible Camera Mounting Plate aka: Bracket Plate. The Flash Bracket comes complete with our Universal PBX3 Bracket Plate or you may select a custom anti-twist plate specifically for your camera model/type in the drop-down. The Flash Bracket attaches to our Bracket Plate with a thumbwheel, no tools required.
Additionally, accessories such as: L-brackets, Handles, Port Protectors and other Adapters may be attached to our Bracket Plate system without blocking the Arca Compatible Base. These accessories provide the ability to add other gear such as microphones, monitors and triggers with ease to better fit your shooting style. Look into related items below to see what works with the BBGv2.
The unit quickly folds down and can easily be stored in your gear bag when not in use.

This is a very sturdy bracket, and I'm glad I made the purchase. It holds my Bolt Vb-180W, or my Flashpoint 360W barebulb flashes with no problem. You have to be careful how you grip it when walking around because if you grip it by the locking lever it will release, and flip in the portrait position; which can cause a serious shift in weight with these type of flash I use. I also like the idea of being able to add different attachments to it. I've recommended this bracket to a few other photographers, and one has already purchased it.

Takes a little getting used to, and took some time to figure out how to attach properly. The more I use it, the more I like it. I still much prefer off-camera flash, but there are too many times when that simply isn't possible. Using this flash bracket with the extender and the B2 adapter allow the use of a ProFoto B2 with Octa Softbox on top of your camera. It is quite a site to walk around with that kind of setup, but the photos that result are very worth it!

Good bracket for right-handed shooter. Very light, but completely rigid when in place. I've had other brands of brackets that were a bit wobbly. It takes a more force than i would like to insert the camera mount into the bracket due to the black coating reducing the hole sizes -but not insurmountable and better than a loose fit. Very easy to use. The flash mount can be moved to the other side of the support arm, allowing space for a Canon radio control to fit along with the flash. Because it is so light, I had no trouble holding my D1X in the normal manner using the camera grips. No need to hold onto the bracket. It has a handy little swing leg that allows the camera to be placed on a table without tipping over. Stores in a small space and assembles quickly with the hex wrenches provided. It even has a handy storage spot for the assembly hex wrench. I had no trouble using 24-70mm f/2.8 and 70-200mm f/2.8 lenses. Didn't try anything larger. Very happy.

Mr.
I am a Nature/Wildlife Photographer as well a Land Conservation photographer. I purchased this bracket after researching the myriad of flash brackets on the market and their respective reviews. I have always wanted a sturdy flash bracket with the ability to rotate the camera and keep the flash centered accurately in either format. In addition to those capabilities, it keeps the weight of some of the heavier flashes from putting to much strain on the camera hotshoe, as well as reducing red eye. Occasionally, I need to shoot group shots of people at the various activities of the Land Conservancy that I am with. This bracket fills that need. I use it on my Canon 1D Mark IV and my canon 7D Mark II. It's very easy to attach and is quite solid, instead of flimsy like others I've seen. I would definitely recommend this product to others. While it is heavier than most other brackets, it's very well made and clearly professional.

Mr.
I could not be more impressed with the boomerang. The products description on the web site and in the catalog are spot on. The unit's finish is impeccable. All moving parts rotate flawlessly with no lateral movement. Using a Canon 600EXII-RT, I noticed only a slight change in the center of gravity, verses the flash being attached directly to the camera. I shot a five hour sporting clay charity event a couple days after the Boomerang's arrival. Walking more than two miles to cover all of the clay shooting positions, I barley noticed the additional weight of the Boomerang and flash bracket plate. Finally the unit's low profile presentation looks great on the camera.

I originally purchased the BBv2 bracket for my Nikon D5,however I also have a smaller body camera without a vertical grip,so an exchange was made for the BBX that works for both bodies.I have not done a job yet with the new bracket, however, setting it up to begin using it has been a pleasure I love the quality of workmanship that has gone into its development.I am getting used to left hand rotation instead of right hand from other brackets I love the compactness it provides fold it up and place in your bag.The bracket plate fits perfectly and looks great too on my D5.I have known about Pro Media Gear for years now, however I was skeptical due to the amount of bracket gear I already own,but I decided to try it anyway and I do not have any regrets at all I am totally impressed with the craftman ship of this brand,Pro Media Gear is now my new best friend and by the way,it was a pleasure to call the company a speak directly to a live person Paul on 2 rings on the phone, for illustrative purposes the web site is fantastic in its design.Being a Wedding and Event Photographer the right bracket and portability is our best friend.

The Boomerang Flash Bracket is a treat to use. Whether in the vertical or horizontal the bracket keeps the flash centered over the axis of the camera to mitigate any retinal or red eye issues. It works great for my uses.

Awesome flash bracket system
At first I thought it was bracket was pricey, having to purchase everything in piece parts to get an entire solution. But once I received everything and put it all together the system is pure magic and worth every penny. Lightweight, flexible and well thought out design. And it is compatible with my Really Right Stuff bullheads, which means I don't have to swap brackets midstream. All in all really well designed and makes getting flash up and off the hotshoe much more achievable and with less wear on the shoulders and back. Marry this with a proper harness system and you are good to go for an 8 hour event.

The finish on the flash bracket feels good in the hand. When I needed a flash bracket for my Profoto B2, the BBGv2 worked. When I upgraded my tripod to a Gitzo with an Arca Swiss type ball head, the MB-D12 L-bracket add on piece found a permanent home on my Nikon D810 body with the grip attached. When I wanted a flash bracket for my Nikon SB700 speedlight, the BBGv2 worked. When I got tired of the Nikon flash cord falling in front of the lens, and got the latest PocketWizard gear, ProMediaGear's great customer service helped me figure out how to attach the FlexTT5-Nikon to the top of the flash bracket. (It was simple, really. I just needed it explained to me. Duh.). ProMediaGear's products are thoughtfully, functionally engineered; and well made. They work. So, my recommendation: This is good stuff. Don't think about it anymore. Just get it.

Not much to say, solid, light, works well with black rapid carry, looks professional as hell. I've gotten many comments and compliments by other photogs about the brackets. Makes your rig look mean, capable, and ready to do serious work. That means a great deal with clients. If they have confidence in your abilities they will listen to you and you will be able to get better images.

This piece is so awesome! I was hesitant spending the large sum of $ on it (especially after duties and difference on money in Canada). This is smooth and easy set up and looks awesome as well. Having a small foot to set the camera down and not tip over - genius! I'm using the Profoto B2 with this, so one thing that would be awesome is a bit of a cable control (clips or velcro - easily added by myself I know, but for the dollars it would be peachy to have something like that included). I've already raved about this to a friend on the East Coast.

I had been using a Custom Bracket Pro-M but wasnt happy with it. the Pro Media bracket is better for me, it comes apart and stores flat in my case. I still grip the camera by its own strap and it doesnt interfere with my left hand reaching the zoom ring on my lenses. Nicely made. the only thing that prevents it from getting 5 stars is the price but that can be said of most camera gear.

I own an earlier version of the BBG. I'm not sure what is different. I can tell you that this some SERIOUS kit and it will change up as to how you shoot events and weddings. It is MUCH faster to use and extraordinarily sturdy. If you use the PMG plates (don't think you can't) then switching from camera to camera is very easy. I've got my Flashpoint mounted on it and a Canon D1s MarkIII, the whole thing is very stable and can take long hours of event and location work. A MASSIVE upgrade from the old Stroboframe brackets.

Does the BBGv2 for Canon 5D Mk3 with BG-11 (standard not L bracket version) have an anti-rotation feature on the attachment plate?

Yes, all of our Custom Plates have anti-rotation features, some features are hidden from view so to speak, but they all work very well. Universal Plates have anti-rotation as well with two rubber cords, but obviously that doesn't work as well as custom plate.

2 Questions about use on a Canon 5D MarkIV: 1. When one plate is mounted on the bottom of the camera, can both an L be mounted on the left side of the camera and a BBGv2 mounted on the right side of the camera? 2. If #1 not possible, can the plate be turned to accept either the L (on left side) or to accept the BBGv2 (on the right)? In other words, one plate for either device but not both devices at the same time.

The BBX Boomerang Flash Bracket will work with gripped and non gripped cameras. You can either select a UNIVERSAL plate and it will work with a camera with and without a grip, or you can purchase custom fitted plates. The BBGV2 Boomerang Flash Bracket will only work with tall cameras that have a battery grip. You cannot use the BBGv2 on cameras without Grip as it won't fit. Q:
I have a Nikon D3s and a profoto b2. What are all the things I need to get to be able to mount my b2 on my camera.I want to make sure the bracket on the bottom of my camera will fit and allow me access the battery compartment. Also I imagine it is not possible to get an L bracket. Just wondering in case I want to use a tripod. I imagine it is not possible since I would have to remove the flash bracket to be able to mount it on a tripod but wanted to ask just in case?
Asked by:
Ana
- 12/27/2017
A:
The most basic adapter required to mount the B2 is our BLSA 5/8 inch mounting adapter. If you wish to utilize a small soft box we manufacture a 5 inch 5/8 stud called the BLSA5A. A=Aluminum and we manufacture it in S = Stainless Steel as well, BLSA5S.
Another great accessory is the BLS3 Rosette. When paired with the BLSA, BLSA5A or BLSA5S the Rosette allows you to pivot the light backwards and distribute the weight of the light and accessories back over your camera body more. This creates a noticeable difference in finger weight and places the balance point in a more neutral position.
The Boomerang comes with an Arca Compatible Bracket Plate and can be locked down on any compatible Ball Head. Additional accessories such as a handle, L-Bracket or other accessories may be purchased at another time and locked into the Left side of the Bracket while still using the Boomerang that connects on the right side. The accessories do not interfere with the Arca Compatible Bracket Plate.
