The BH50 Ball Head combines years or research and American Manufacturing, provides rock solid grip on camera, with ease. Features Arca-Type standard mount with extra wide clamp opening for ultimate compatibility. It has been machined from solid Aluminum T6061 blocks and stainless steel.

The BH50 type ball head is a large size 50mm ball, with big round dial for just the right amount of tension quickly, even with gloves. Quality is what you would expect from ProMediaGear.

The BH50 Ball Head works with Arca-Type plates (mounts to tripod via 3/8 16” standard) The Large Mechanical Friction Knob on the ball head allows to swing it side to side so that any position can be achieved. It features either #C40 or #C60 Clamp that is free to move around or fall into the 90° Drop Slots while the Pan Lock Knob allows to rotate your camera 360°

Among The Very Best

I love tripods and ball heads. As a standard ball this is one of the best I have every used. The ball is ultra smooth. The panning base is like silk, with no slop. The large knobs are nice and easy to use, and custom placement of the pan knob is a good touch. The head is reasonable in size for what is gives you. I would not hesitate to buy this again.

My new go-to ball head!

This will undoubtedly be my go-to ball head. The pan and ball movements are incredibly smooth. Absolutely zero ball head droop, even with a heavy body/lens combination. The large main and pan lock knobs are a delight to use and will be easy to operate with gloves on. I much prefer the wide grooves on these vs. the knurled or fine grooves on other heads I've used. The ability to reposition the panning knob is a great feature. This is yet another well designed and executed bit of gear from PMG!

Q: Could you please tell me what is the major difference between this one (BH50c60) and BH1 ball head? Thanks!

A: The BH50C60 Head is built more like a traditional head, whereas the BH1 is a mechanical head, with movable slot for dropping the camera to 90 degree orientation.

They both feature a large knob, but the BH50 is lighter. They both have 360 degrees fluid panning mechanism but the new one has a removable knob for repositioning, if customization is required. BH50C60 also has laser engraved markings, has small tension knob (that will give extra tension to make camera in place) and smoother.

Q: what plate is required for Sony 100-400 GM?

A: Great question! The BH50c60 already comes w/ a free universal PBX3 plate (3 inch plate) which works well w/ any camera and to your Sony 100-400GM. But if you’re looking for a plate specifically designed for lens w/ foot, PX4, 4 inch plate is the one to suggest as it’s size fits your lens.

A: Yes, it’s load capacity is enough for your A7iii & Sony 100-400GM or your Sony 200-600 in Portrait vertical slot. It’s weight rating is actually 150 lbs.
