Does using a Flash Bracket take better photos?

A Flash Bracket is a photographic tool designed to keep your flash centered and above the lens when switching from Landscape to Portrait shots. A flash bracket will assist in eliminating red-eye and awkward shadows creating a more pleasing and consistent photograph. The ProMediaGear Boomerang Flash Bracket Series is our modular Flash Bracket designed around those benefits and so much more.

The ProMediaGear Boomerang Flash Bracket is manufactured in the USA using the highest-grade materials. The Boomerang, at just under 1 lbs., is capable of holding standard speed lights flashes from Canon, Nikon, Sony, Godox and others and is even strong enough to hold Profoto, Elinchrom, Quantum and similar larger units too. (additional accessories may be required).

Who Uses a Bracket These Days?

Today, many photographers are using
MagMod, Gary Fong, Rogue and other light modifiers and often ask if a Flash Bracket is even required. We believe that a quality Flash Bracket, such as the ProMediaGear Boomerang, is a useful tool to keep in your bag and offers many outstanding benefits.

Have you ever tried to shoot a portrait photograph of a subject near a wall with a flash? The photo looks great in your head until you check your preview screen and gasp, there it is, a terrible side shadow. Capture the photo in the best possible lighting the first time using the right tools available. A properly positioned flash bracket will quickly and effortlessly creates a more pleasing shot and reduce or eliminate the shadow.

A Flash Bracket is a great tool for fast paced shooting environments such as wedding or event photography. The bracket allows you to quickly rotate the flash and “create” quality shots providing the best possible lighting for the moment in various lighting scenarios and reducing post processing. The Boomerang Flash Bracket lets you stand out in the crowd as a professional photographer and also makes ripping back and forth between landscape and portrait is a breeze.

Boomerang Breakdown:

The
ProMediaGear Boomerang Flash Bracket consists of 2 key components, an Arca Compatible Bracket Plate and the Removable Flash Arm Mount. The Ara Compatible Universal PBX3 Bracket Plate is first installed onto your camera or grip and designed not to have to be removed. The BBX Boomerang Flash Arm installs in seconds onto the Bracket Plate and locks in place with a quick connect knob. Your Flash or Accessory attaches to the top of the Flash Arm on a Mounting Plate with a ¼-20 thumb screw or the included CS2 cold shoe. Remember, the flash is now mounted “off-camera” and will require a TTL sync cable or wireless radio transmitter to fire. The Boomerang lifts the flash up and away from the camera body a few inches leaving plenty of room for today’s larger OCF triggers and transmitters. The Flash Arm features a compact folding design that is easy and convenient to store when not in use. Breaking down into a small form factor allows the Boomerang Flash Bracket to be looked at as a useful photographic tool rather than a bulky apparatus that is cumbersome to use.

Storage:

The
BBX Boomerang flash arm may be quickly removed and stored when not in use leaving the bracket plate on the camera at all times. The entire flash arm, with a few turns of the lock knob, comes off, folds down flat and can be stored in your camera bag. The BBGv2 disconnects is a slightly different fashion, but can also quickly be broken down and stored when not in use.
