Perfection!
This tilt head is simply put, the best one I've ever used hands down! I've yet to use any other head with a heavy pro dslr and attached heavy supertelephoto lens that would actually hold steady when tightened down. There is literally no play when tightened, and the tilt tension adjustment is great for fine tuning it to work how you want it to. Well worth the price, as are all of the other PMG products I own and use on a regular basis. Built to last and work as designed and advertised.

HM 1 monopod head
This thing works great on the top of a mono stick. You can tilt the camera and lens without tilting the monostick forward or backwards. Great for trying to shoot birds high up in a tree. Really made out of good stuff not some plastic junk that mite break when you try to use it the first time out. Yes I would recommend this to anyone that really uses a monostick. I use my monostick all the time it is easy to take along with me when I am on a trip on the motorcycle with my back pack. I love this little toy these guys are always trying to make something to make your picture taking fun and easy to do. They are very nice and helpful when I and looking for something new And Different.

HM1 Head
I bought this head some months ago after owning other PMG equipment before. All PMG equipment has so far been well designed and was well matching my camera Canon 5d MK4 with battery grip. I bought the HM1 head as it's design is different from what I have been seeing on the market. I paired it to a GITZO monopod, but planned to buy later on the PMG monpod. After some testing how to work and use the HM1 I got used to it and do not want to miss it since. I like the easy way to adjust the grip of the head depending on the load as I'm using it in combination with different lenses which changes the centre of gravity and the weight. The clamp works perfectly togehter with the PMG brackets. The only weak part so far has been the paint of the knob, which gets easyly scratched.

Very sturdy and easy to use monopod tilt head. Needed this for use in a small bird blind. Has made my monopod movements easier for tilting while in the small space.

Dr
Let's start by saying that the ProMediaGear head is different from most all competitor's versions. It happens to be beautifully made, as are all of their pieces. Operation is smooth. Tightening down is easy. Try it out, I expect you will find it as good or better than "that other brand".

As always with PMG - this product is of exceptional quality. High precision, locks so well! If I could have one wish for it, it would be that it would have a swivel plate to accept a quick release head mounted in either direction (ie with the axis of a long lens on lens mounted setup, and with the access of the body on a wide-angle body mounted setup.

Q:
Sadly, you didn't answer Alan's question: He asked, "Where is the monopod it attaches to?" I suspect his reference was your new monopod mentioned in a youtube segment along with your 42-series tripods. Is it not yet available? When?
Asked by:
weh
- 5/27/2017
A:
Sorry for the Delay on this. The monopod by ProMediaGear will be available in Mid November. Took us a long while to complete this one, apologies for that.

Q:
In the video the 'friction' knob shows 4 lugs (every 90 degrees) on it. But most of the pictures on the web only show 2 lugs (180 degrees). Are both of these included, or was there a design change at some point? If a design change, which is it now, 4 or 2?
Asked by:
Doug Crist
- 4/2/2019
A:
There was a design change in late 2018 that now features the 2 lug T knob rather than the 4 lug friction knob. Both work in the same manner. The website photos are accurate the video is a bit older, but functionally the same.
