L-Bracket Plate for Canon EOS-RL-Bracket Plate for Canon EOS-R

ProMediaGear L-Bracket L-Plate Custom Designed for Canon EOS-R Mirrorless body.

L-Brackets or L-Plates allow for fast changes between portrait and landscape orientations, without the need of tripod head readjustment and re-composition. You simply release the bracket from your tripod head, flip it 90 degrees mounting it back into the tripod head. Compatible with Arca-Swiss type standards from all major manufacturers.

Benefits or mounting on vertical side facilitate a more stable platform than using ball head alone to tilt 90 degrees, as the camera mounts directly over center of tripod apex.

This L-Bracket has been machined from solid Aluminum T6061 block and black anodized for scratch resistant finish. The main feature of this L-Bracket is its two piece design; the vertical piece of the L-Bracket can be extended or removed, this allows for the use of just the base plate if desired. Furthermore, it's offset to allow for easy camera cable connections, and full articulation of LCD screen is permitted. Custom fitting to the EOS R camera body ensures that the L-plate mounts securely eliminating any play or twisting.

  • Custom Designed to fit specifically for Canon EOS-R body

  • Efficiently swap between portrait and landscape orientations

I didn't like the offset vertical bracket. It made it difficult to zoom/focus the lens plus, to remove the lenses from the camera body. The main advantage of the offset bracket is for the articulating screen. I replaced it with the PLX3x L-Bracket. When extended out, it allows for at least 80% articulation, which works well for me.

Great Bracket
I did a lot of research and I bought a couple L brackets before this one. This is by far my favorite. Not the cheapest, but the fact it is very high quality and built in the USA, I’m happy to pay a premium for something well designed and well built. I thought I might find it frustrating having the forward design, but it is completely workable and actually has some interesting beneficial side effects to how it positions the camera. It’s nice having full motion to the screen. I might actually start using it. The other brackets I used did not allow for this.

I am new to the EOS R, but I already have the 7DmII and the 5DmIV L brackets and none of them disappoint. As usual the engineering on this was very well done. You have freedom of movement of the multi-position screen on the back of the EOS R while having easy attachment to the Promediagear Ball head, Boomerang flash attachment or any of the sold by promediagear camera carry devices of which I now think I own, use and am very pleased with all of them. One of the big reasons I got the EOS R was to shoot movies of my grand children and I find that I can easily attach both a movie light and a microphone to this L bracket when using the EOR R and the 24-105mm lens. The hard part then is to keep up with them. I have been very please with the ease of use when using the L brackets and my other promediagear equipment. Their systems work together flawlessly. I find I can quickly change from horizontal to verticle. This beats the pants off the old Bogan equipment I have been using for years. One real important to me, additional point, is it is designed and made here in America.

Best bracket on the market. The bracket allows full access to ports even when mounted vertically. It also permits proper screen articulation. Superb construction.

I tried another brand of B-Bracket for my Canon EOS R but it did not allow me to articulate the viewing screen. I was delighted to receive this one and confirm it does allow me to fully articulate the viewing screen, a function I use very often. Thank you for making a successful product.

Beautifully made L bracket that allows full screen articulation. As a landscape and nightscape photographer I needed an L bracket that would allow for full screen articulation on my Canon EOS R and this bracket does that. In addition, the battery is fully accessible with the bracket in place, as is the SD card slot and all of the accessory slots, such as the intervalometer plug in. The bracket also allows for changing lenses with the bracket in place. The build quality of the bracket is top notch. I couldn't be happier with it and it stays on my camera all the time.

I think the L-plate and L-bracket are absolutely essential for the Canon EOS-R body. My experience picking up the R body with my right hand had me pressing the AF point button. That shot the AF point off to the right hand side, or where I did not expect it to go and where it was inappropriate for my focus point. I learned to pick the R body up with my left hand by the L-bracket after missing shots. The software in my particular R body is, in my opinion, not finished. The L-bracket is not only extremely useful it prevents mis-focused shots. There has been criticism that the L-bracket does not allow the screen to open all the way. I have not found this to be a problem at all. Using the L-bracket assures that you do not touch the screen and invoke camera setting you don't want. The screen sensitivity is sometimes flawed, at best.

Works like expected
Bought the EOS R, and knew that I would need an L bracket to fully use the camera. Searched for different options, found someone on FredMiranada forums recommending ProMedia Gear, I checked it out and bought one. Bracket is well constructed and I will be a repeat customer.

Fantastic bracket for the EOS R
If you want an L bracket that not only works for the EOS R but allows you to use the tilt screen fully, look no further. This bracket has fantastic build quality, includes a hidden hex wrench, and holds the camera firmly. Love this bracket. Great for anyone who shoots portraits and headshots.

Mr.
I was looking for a L-bracket and needed one that would allow me to flip out the back screen, after some research, I settled on this one. Very well made, like that it slides out and it was the least expensive of the ones I was looking at. When attached to my camera, the upper part can act as a handle if you are shooting video and looking to get low; I guess the same could be said for stills. I have one minor complaint though: When I use the bracket in portrait, if I tilt my ballhead back, the bracket comes out of the clamp, no matter what lense is attached. Stays securely in place when using it in landscape; which is what I bought it for. I have another plate for portrait so it's not a big deal. I am using the Acratech GP-s ballhead with lever clamp. Overall I am very satisfied with this bracket and would recommend.
