real quality piece
I'm currently using it as a foot for my EF 500mm lens. Took it with me on African trip, where I attached a Benro monopod. With an EOS 1DX hanging off the lens, it's quite solid. This is a quality item, and love the double dovetail which will allow it to be used in so many versatile ways.

Mr.
This plate mated up well with my Canon EF 500 IS L lens. The only suggestion I have is about the safety stop screws. There should be designed in means for the screw not to be allowed to unthread completely, as this would allow then to fall out and defeat the intended purpose of preventing the plate from slipping off of the locking shoe, and consequently dropping the camera rig. In my opinion that is the only thing keeping me from rating this product a 5.

Long ARCA Plate
The plate is manufactured to very high quality standards and is a bit thicker than others I use, which does not affect its use for me. My only con is that the plate comes with regular 1/4 inch screws and Allen wrenches. I immediately went on-line to buy D-head screws since trying to juggle expensive cameras, plates, screws, and wrenches in the field is a risk to the camera and to dropping the screws on the ground. D-head screws are inexpensive and easily found at Amazon.

Quality Plate. I still can't believe the price and quality of this item. Purchased this plate and an 8 inch one for use as part of a macro kit and I am very impressed.

Simply..."The Best"
Without a doubt, this Arca-Swiss plate is the best on the market. I have two of them, one on the bottom of a Nikon 200-500 and the other attached to a Sigma 300-800. The quality and workmanship is fantastic!!!!!

PX6-SS2 review
PX6-SS2 Except for this one purchase, everything I've ever bought from PMG (and that includes a previous purchase of this same item - this is not my first PX6) gets a 5-star rating. Unfortunately, I'll only give this one a 3-star rating because the SS2 Quick Release Adapter port/sleeve keeps falling out of the PX6. It's not a big deal for me because the lens foot I have this PX6 attached to, captures the SS2 and keeps it from falling out. As an aside note: To give you an idea of how highly I think of PMG gear: PMG gear is horribly expensive (especially here in Canada, where I have to factor in Customs duties and currency exchange rates when purchasing from PMG, but their stuff is so good that in my opinion, it's always been worth the financial pain to purchase PMG stuff over their competitors' products, which are usually less expensive.

Q:
Dear Sir: I need to know for each of the double dove tail plates, PX6, PX7, and PX8, how far from the ends of the plates is the mounting screw hole? For example, for the PX6 it looks like the mounting screw hole is not quite in the center, but instead less than 3 inches from one end and therefore more than 3 inches from the other end. It is this measurement that I need to know for the PX6, PX7 and PX8. I need to know this location within 1/8 inch so I can determine which of these plates will work best for me with a Katana Gimbla Head for my camera system. Thanks!

A:
To mount these plates we use channels along which the screws can adjust position to suit any lens on the market. You can simply slide the screw inside the channel of the plate to attach to single or dual hole in the plate. If you require a 3/8" inch screw we sell those separately as well, most lenses 400mm, 500mm or 600mm require a 1/4"-20 screw and 3/8"-16 screw.

Q:
Does this plate compatible to the lens foot of SONY FE 200-600mm F5.6-6.3 G OSS?
Asked by:
Jotaro Yoshida
- 1/3/2021
A:
Yes, it’s compatible. Sometimes longer rail is better to balance easily but if you're looking for something that's more fit to your lens, we have the 4.5 inch arca-swiss rail, or the PX4 which is what we recommend for your lens.
