This is the first nodal rail I've ever purchased. I must have been living under a rock, but I wasn't even aware these existed (thank you Noel for the tip. PMG customer support is the best, by the way!). I was looking for a way to better balance my camera while using my 100mm square/rectangular filter system. The filter holder, frames, lens, etc. mounted on the camera made it very front-end heavy. This reasonably priced accessory allows me to easily find the nodal (balance) point of my camera which results in a much more neutral feel to the camera. I use it on my PMG TR-343L tripod w/ BH-50 head. The rail, like my other PMG gear, is built with precision, robustness and exceptional quality. This is one piece of kit that will I’ll always carry in my bag.
