Description:

Retrofit your current strap with less than 1 inch webbing to our SS2 Quick Release Adapter with ease!

To install, simply lay the mechanism over your strap webbing and push the pin through the hole and across to the other side. Open the loctite and place a small drop inside the threaded area. Insert the supplied screw and tighten. The screw will pull the pin snuggly into the other side of the strap. As an added measure of safety we manufactured the SS2P3 with (2) small additional set screws. Insert a drop of loctite into each hole and carefully install the small screws. That's it!! You may choose to leave the other mechanism on your strap or carefully remove it. The SS2P3 is compatible with the PMG Quick Release Strap System. Let nothing get in the way of your creativity, Get Shooting!

I added this to my Blackrapid strap and cut off the original threaded mount so that I could use the original "keeper" stops on the strap and not have the original connector bumping against the PMG quick connect. It is easy to assemble and you get everything you need in the SS2P3 product contents to do it in a few minutes. Be careful to attach the small set screws to the allen key first as they are tiny and would be easily lost. Mine had an extra set screw included which was a nice touch. I use this attached to PMG's PX6 plate on my 200-500, and 500 f/4. Works great and so much better than a threaded strap attachment. Like I said, I cut the original strap threaded connector off because you won't ever want to go back to that after using this quick connector. Great product!

very rapid but the unknown reliability

Used this with PBNMBD12 several months, never meet problems. But I slightly doubt its reliability after much time plug/unplug, I always use extra safety rope

This is the bees knees.

Just the ticket to attach my camera with L-Plate to my Pacsafe sling. Much better than the original attachment that came with the strap - it was a nightmare as it always came loose. Not this one, it's as safe as houses.

Q: Will this work with 5Ds and the Canon 1DX?

A: The #SS2P3 will allow you to retrofit any strap with a webbing less than 1 inch thick to our quick release platform. Currently we have incorporated the female adapter into many of our custom plates and updated #PBX3 Universal Bracket Plate. We do offer a custom Bracket Plate that specifically fit the Canon 5Ds, 5DSR and 5D Mark 3 Body (#PBC5D3). We also manufacture a custom Bracket Plate for the Canon 1Dx and Canon 1Dx Mark 2, (#PBC1Dx Series) (Bracket Plate fits both camera bodies)

A: Yes these SS2 type plugs work with Sony A7 Mark I and Mark II series camera plates.

Q: Hi there, I have a Kirk L-bracket on my Nikon D850. Do you make available the locating bushing that would screw into the L-bracket so the ball lock pin will engage? Thanks, Don

A: Not yet however we are working on a female SS2 port/bushing that will attach to any Arca-Swiss type rail. At this time availability is estimated at March 2018.

Q: Does it work with PND4, PBX3 and PBND850? or any standard tripod socket in a camera base?

A: The SS2P3 works with only compatible PMG bracket plates. If you see the silver or black circle in the plate, then it should be compatible. There is a drop down menu showcasing the plates in the SS2P3 and SS2P1 listings. The size is specific to PMG and not cross compatible.

The insert has been installed on many current camera Bracket Plates manufactured by PMG. It will fit the Universal PBX3, PBND850 and PBND5 (which fits the D4 too) as requested by your question.

The plate is locked onto the base of your camera with a supplied 1/4-20 screw.
