First the good: It is beautifully made. Solid and strong. It comes off in a snap with no effort and it snaps back in place reliably. I like that the insert is steel and should last forever. Now the bad. It is big. It stands out from the plate 1” and is about 7/8” in diameter. It is bigger than it looks in the photos. I wished PMG posted dimensions in the description. On the PBX3 plate, on my D810 without a grip, it intrudes into your space when you are taking photos. In landscape mode it rubs against your wrist. One could get used to it I guess but why should we have to? In portrait mode, with a battery grip, it irritatingly intrudes into your palm when you are using the vertical shutter release. I don’t think I could get used to it in this mode. You can snap it off and take your pictures then snap it back in place when you’re done but that starts to be a hassle too. It would be perfect if it was no more than half as tall and much smaller in diameter. I really wanted to like it because I love my PMG tripod

I love all of my Promediagear products. This quick detach strap fitting is the best design I have used. I feel very secure using it even with my 300 f/2.8 lens attached.

I have been using this connector for over 2 years. Compared with other companies' connectors, it is very elaborate and can be easily detached from the strap. I use this connector almost every day at work, but the camera has never been disconnected due to a connector failure. Currently, I can't think of changing to other companies' connectors.

Got tired of carrying a traditional sling or other strap option while hiking/backpacking. Used this to build my own sling to hang on my pack. Works great with my PMG L-bracket on my 5D mk IV.

I absolutely love this product. I have purchased two of them. One was the old model with the small release button which was flawless, the second is the new model. The original model was 100% reliable. The new model has a subtle quirk. You have to push it in, and then make sure it snaps. (The original model which has a small button on top always slid in and snapped in place.) The new model failed me once. The first day I was using it, my Blackmagic 6k went from the tripod back to the strap. I took about 5 steps and the camera fell to the ground. Sigh. Good thing I had a cage around it which took the impact. Now whenever I connect I make sure that it is locked and secure. Perhaps the new big button hangs a little. I would have given this product 5 stars as I love it. But, the one drop has caused me to have to be extra careful when attaching to the strap.

Faster to use than any other strap detachment system, solid design and it’s big enough that it feels incredibly solid. Very happy hanging phase one and Fuji medium format cameras from it

This plug connector is very strong, simple, fast and easy to use and convenient and dependable. Ever since I tried one I never looked back to the other systems which I had used for the past five years for my cameras. I now have one each on my neck strap, shoulder strap and both left and right shoulder straps on my camera backpack. I replaced all the plates and L plates on my 5D4, 70D and 100-400mm long lens to apply this wonderful system.

The SS2 plug in combination with the receptive plates (L-brackes as well as lens plates) is a combination second to none. Very strong and so easy in use. Build quality is really great. Customer support from Tom is very useful and so friendly. Overall a great experience!

Excellent and solid connector. Positive engagement is audibly verified wherein the 4 ball bearing detents "click" into place. Engagement can also be verified visually and by tactile feel, detent release button surface is sufficiently large even with gloved fingers. I have a PeakDesign cuff attached to this connector on the bottom of my PromediaGear L-bracket for my Nikon Z6. I chose this connector over the Kirk quick disconnect system.
