Description:

The Pro-Stix Carbon Fiber Series Tripods are designed and built for the professional videographer or photographer looking for the toughest and most rugged tripod. The tripods are rated to support loads up to 125 lbs on the precision engineered aluminum truss apex. The apex features an interchangeable flat plate that can be removed and transitioned to various accessories such as our #TRB75 75mm Leveling Bowl insert. The 42 Series Truss Apex includes a safety lock button that won't allow the plate to prematurely fall out of the apex without depressing the release. The apex plate has a 3/8-16 standard mounting thread for Ball Heads, Video Heads, Gimbals, Sliders and much more.

The carbon fiber legs have 3 adjustable locking angle positions to accommodate any shooting situation, high to low. Each side of the apex features a 1/4-20 threaded adapter port to mount additional accessories. Each leg also incorporates a 1/4-20 female adapter as well. Lastly, each tripod foot has a hardened stainless-steel spike integrated inside the tube. The entire line-up of ProMediaGear Pro-Stix Carbon Fiber Tripods are precision CNC machined in our factory located in Tinley Park, IL USA.

Another 5 star for ProMediaGear. Has to be the best Carbon Fiber tripod made. After wasting money on less expensive tripods, I have finally got a tripod that will last a lifetime. Worth every penny, the best of the best.

Tripod performs as advertised & expected. The red apex is what puts it over the top. It distinguishes it from the crowd. To this tripod, I have added a competitors BH55 ballhead & a Canon 5D mark 3. With the legs fully extended & spread out completely, my 6' 2" height just has to slightly lower my head to find the viewer. Perfect height on level ground, which is exactly what I wanted. Completely satisfied with the quality & performance.

TR423
Beautifully machined and finished. Post-sale service, if needed, is simply outstanding. And if my ladder is missing, I wouldn't be afraid to climb on this thing - I'm sure it will hold me up as sturdy as it is. Vibration is non-existent.

This tripod is really outstanding. It is sturdy, well designed and well manufactured. I love the attention to detail, like the Aluminum sculptured bridge piece, the way the bearings are sealed and mounted, it is a joy to just look at. It is easy to adjust and set up. I have it equipped with the RRS BH55, which ensures a very low mounting point to the bridge piece of the tripod for extra stability. Despite the fact it is big, it is not too heavy for shorter walks. The pictures are off course sharp, as is the main purpose of a heaving a solid tripod. Just love it!

Mr
I was about to order another Really Right Stuff TVC43 after my original was stolen. I'd had my RRS (along with an ArcaSwiss C1 head, also taken) for over five years, and loved the combination. But given the length of time since I last purchased this equipment, I thought it was prudent to reconduct the research, much like I had done when I bought the RRS & the Cube. Boy am I glad I did. After about a week of research, I stuck with the SwissArca Cube. I was tempted by the C1's sister model, the D4, but ultimately decided I was familiar with the C1 and absolutely loved its functionality and ergonomics. As researched, ProMediaGear's products caught my attention. At first, the company's biggest and most ambitious tripod series, the "42" series, seemed superficially similar to RRS's "43" series. But the more I looked, the more the subtle and nuanced difference revealed themselves. The ProMediaGear's top plate is more robust and elegant, is far more mechanically beautiful, and includes a method for changing the plate for cinema or other style heads that is much easier and ergonomically elegant compared with the RRS. The reversible spiked foot is a feature unavailable on the RRS. The aluminum twist locks on the PMG are higher quality and more robust than the rubber and plastic units on the RRS. These are some the many details that ultimately caused me to switch my tripod loyalties. After receiving the tripod, more differences revealed themselves. Put generally, as nicely made as the RRS is, the PorMediaGear takes build quality to a noticeably higher level. Kudos to the engineers and designers at ProMediaGeaf for designing what I think is the best large carbon tripod on the market today.

What a fantastic tripod, it is everything I expected and more, it is light enough to take on landscape location and sturdy enough to support the heaviest camera and lens. Thanks for a great product.

Geared Head Tripod
It would have been easy to upgrade to a larger RRS tripod, having owned two in the past, but I came across compelling information about ProMediaGear, a supplier with which I was unfamiliar. One of the things I appreciated about ProMediaGear is that they list the leg sizes of each section which is hard to come by with other brands. I was looking for a robust 3 section carbon tripod that would minimize vibration. I had owned 4 section tripods before, but the smallest section always seemed to cause issues because of the smaller diameter. Having only 3 sections is also easier to deploy compared to a 4th section. The TR423 eliminated any vibration and is extremely well built. It is solid as a rock and durable. The PMG TR423 It is a great match for my Arca Swiss C1 GP Cube. I added the 75mm bowl adapter to use standard 75mm leveling bases which makes it easy to swap the leveling base over to a Benro 75mm High Hat when a smaller size is required. With the leveling base and head attached to the TR423, my viewfinder is 66" above ground which is just about perfect for my 6'5" height since it allows me to see the controls on top of the GFX 50R.
