The TRHH2 adapter is 6.25” tall, which is an improvement over the shorter TRHH1. I originally ordered the TRHH1 however it was backordered by the seller. The TRHH2 was sent in its place and I am glad they did. I can, with my big hands, grip the handle of the half ball. It’s still a bit cramped but, workable. I can only imagine how difficult the shorter TRHH1 would have been to use.
This a great unit for adding half ball tech for those who tend to swap out heads often between video and non-ball tripods. I got tired of playing with the set screws. Mostly losing them. This adapter solves the problem. It is light weight and well made.
Things to know:
Does add height but, for me this means I don’t have to use so much of the lower legs on my tripods. Sturdier that way.
The Manfrotto half ball fits nicely into the adapter, however the long 520BALL handle does not fit. The shorter 520BALLSH handle does. Oddly, the 520BALL came with a 3” long SS threaded bolt and the shorter 520BALLSH came with a 4” bolt. This does mean when using the 520BALLSH you must put the handle in place first then add the head. Yes, I could swap out or cut the longer bolt.
Yes, I will order another TRHH2.
