ProMediaGear Slider Chart Description:

VS24 PMG-DUO 24 Inch Video Slider

The slider works well with DSLR cameras. The user needs some time to adjust the setting in order to get the best slide effect without any jerks. If the user plans to get a tripod, they will need to test it with the slider. Do not go and purchase a tripod before receiving the slider. Overall it has helped to produce good quality shots and stability.

Canon Explorer of Light

I am so excited to have found this slider/Motor control made by the good folks at ProMediaGear. I have used most of the motion control units that are made and this is by far the most easy to use for either still images, video or time lapse. The motor can be stored on the track or separated in the accompanying carrying case. With just a couple of connections, this slider is ready to use in minutes. It could not be any easier to program. the final part of this awesome product is the remarkable price. You need to add this to your toolbox for capturing motion!

Q: can the carriage be purchased separately id like to have two?

A: Yes carriages will be available separately. We don't yet have accurate cost but probably around $125-150.

Q: You state that the small knob is used to lock the carriage into position, can it be used to set drag on the carriage? Thanks

A: No, the lock engages a rubber stopper, you cannot set the drag on the carriage. We're working on an addition of flywheel or other means of creating a smooth drag.

Q: What is the weight limit of the sliders? How much weight can they carry? Thanks MK

A: The slide track has been tested with up to 160 pounds. The carriage we test with up to 20 lbs. We recommend up to 20 pound load for our sliders.

Q: If I purchase the 24inch slider with a motor will it come with the correct carriage or do I still need to buy the 3 wheel carriage separately?

A: There are two carriages available. VC1 - a four wheeled carriage, and VC2 three wheel carriage. Only VC2 three wheeled can be used with VSMDC1 Motor Attachment. VC2 is also bigger meant to be used with larger cameras than DLSR's.

A: Beginning in March 2015, all of the sliders purchased at ProMediaGear.com will be equipped with VC2 the 3 Wheel Carriage, making them compatible with Motor Control. A separate carriage or even the VC1 4 Wheel carriage is available for purchase.

Q: Can this slider be used for vertical climbing/descending shots?

A: Yes the slider can be used in vertical configurations manually, very easily. If you'd like to use it vertical with a motor you would need a pulley system (we are working on that) to make the weight of the carriage neutral (kind of like counterweight systems used in elevators) so that motor doesn't have to work too hard to pull it vertically.
